The Importance of Nutrition in Grief

Grief and Nutrition with Sabine Horner

In this episode, I invite Sabine Horner to discuss some of the ways that grief and nutrition are linked. We explore the different types of food we can eat and how we can use our breath to help us on our grieving journey.

I have spoken with Sabine before, but for those of you who don’t know, Sabine is a registered nutritionist and an Ayurvedic Health Coach. Ayurveda derives from one of the classical languages of India, Sanskrit, with Ayur meaning life, and Veda meaning knowledge. Ayurveda is known to have holistic powers which cleanse and restore balance to our bodies and minds.

This is especially important in the early stages of our grieving journey, where we may not want to cook or eat, or even if we do want to eat we want all the foods that are bad for us.

In this episode, Sabine explains how nutrition and grief are intertwined, and why our gut health is so important. What we eat, when we eat it, and how we eat/drink has a lasting impact on our bodies. Sabine discusses what temperature we should drink our water, why deep breathing is essential, and how we should be taking multi-vitamins.

The relationship with ourselves is the most important relationship we will ever have, as we have to live with ourselves for our whole life. So, make that relationship a positive one, a loving one, and a compassionate one.
